The bespoke process starts with a face-to-face meeting where we get to know a bit about your daily life, what you want to get out of the bespoke shirt, your likes and dislikes, and your style and fit preferences. Working together to create your ideal shirt design, we guide you through the process in a way that allows you to be as prescriptive or hands off as you like. During the first meeting, we take your measurements carefully. The world of carpentry is centred around the "measure twice, cut once" philosophy, and we couldn't agree more. It is worth spending a little extra time in the measuring stage to reduce the amount of time required for fittings and correcting issues later.
After the first meeting, we will cut your bespoke pattern to your requirements and will make the shirt for you to try. We will conduct a fitting and take it from there. Should there be any issues with the fit of the shirt, we would take the shirt away with us, make the necessary alterations to the pattern, recut and remake the shirt to be tried in a subsequent fitting. When the shirt fits you correctly and you are happy with it, you will be able to take it away with you to wash and wear as you would any other shirt. We encourage you to let us know how you are getting on with the shirt after a few wears and washes, to allow us to adapt your pattern with any tweaks or improvements for subsequent shirts.
When it comes to ordering subsequent shirts according to the same pattern, we can send these to you directly without a fitting. Should you wish to change any elements of the design or fit, depending on the degree of these changes, a fitting may be required to check the final shirt. We understand that body shapes can change over time, or season by season. While we are able to build in a little extra room (we like to call it "pasta allowance"), we can remeasure you upon request and conduct fittings to check your latest pattern.
Unlike many other bespoke shirtmakers, we have no minimum order requirements, so you can order one bespoke shirt from us to see if you like it before you order any more.
The shirts are made at our workshop in Devon but our customers are mostly based in London. Fittings can take place in your own home, where you can check how well potential fabrics go with your clothes, or in a mutually convenient location.
Our shirts start from £300, but the price can vary depending on the fabric selection and style.
